About the event
While not nearly as famous as Stanley Park, no other forest in Vancouver can match Pacific Spirit Park’s forest shade cover. It is one of the last patches in the world of the rare Coastal Douglas Fir Zone, and contains hard-to-find Vancouver native species like Grand Fir, Sitka Spruce, Pacific Yew, Cascara, and Aspen. A legacy of powerful forest fires and tornadoes can be seen in the Park’s burnt stumps and massive toppled trees.
